Nimra Bucha on Raheela (Mum) in ‘Polite Society’: ‘That evil laugh is mine!’

Another of the stars talks about her role in the film and how close to reality is a mother like the one depicted in this film…

MEET Nimra Bucha – who plays Raheela in ‘Polite Soceity’.
Bucha is superb as the mother who dotes on her son (Salim-Akshay Khanna) and wants only the very best for him.
So, when she goes looking for a bride, at her own swanky home Eid Party, Salim likes the look of Lena Khan (Ritu Arya) and is soon romancing her and winning her heart.
Raheela approves – even though she says Lena would not be her first choice.
Lena’s sister Ria is very opposed to Salim and Raheela – and quickly embarks on scuppering the loved-up couple’s wedding plans.
Bucha talks about getting into the part, playing a villain and her outlook on international work.
Based in London for some part of the time, she has just done ‘Churails’ and ‘Ms Marvel’ and has been seen in UK theatre and on screen in her native Pakistan.

The film releases tomorrow (Friday) on April 28
