Stars of Indian cinema send tributes with one present in Cannes itself….
TWO OF BOLLYWOOD’S biggest stars – Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan spoke at the tribute to Indian cinematographer Santosh Sivan as he was awarded the Pierre Angénieux Tribute Award at the Cannes Film Festival this evening.
While those two sent video messages of congratulations and described their working relationship with Sivan – Bollywood star and now entrepreneur and Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team franchise owner Preity Zinta was in person here in Cannes to talk about her affection for the man who has been behind some 50 films as a cinematographer and some 20 as a director and easily the best recognised cinematographer not just in India but globally even before this special award given by French professional lens manufacturer, Angénieux.
*Also just announced is that Anasuya Sengupta has won the top acting prize for her role in The Shameless which appeared in the Un Certain Regard Section here.
