Cannes 2026 – Who’s that girl? Our next videos…Urvashi Rautela, Taha Shah Badussha, Pan Nalin and Joy Mathew and more…

Just a short update to what’s going on here as we continue to cover the 79th Cannes Film Festival…

Cannes 8.45am CET

CAN YOU KEEP UP?

Yes, we have been talking to Bollywood star Urvashi Rautela…she tells us… and you – how you can slay it on the Red Carpet – she’s gone viral with practically everything she’s done here… Seen our short Reel of her yet? Head over to our Instagram feed… This is a longer piece to camera and shot in one of the best hotels in Cannes and a byword for glamour and glitz – The Martinez – is also where India’s L’Oreal Paris ambassadors stay…the festival is far from over (May 12-23) and there’s a certain Aishwarya Rai Bachchan expected to be here tomorrow (May 20)… Can you wait? haha.

ACV’s Brigitte Lenore Kerackian and Taha Shah Badussha

And now who’s this with www.asianculturevulture.com’s Brigitte Lenore Kerackian? It’s none other than heartthrob Taha Shah Badussha (pictured right) – one of the stars of Indian auteur Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s global hit series, ‘Heeramandi‘ – he tells us a little about his forthcoming new series ‘Nazdeekiyan‘ – we caught up with him at a party hosted at the Bharat Pavilion by the world’s largest film set studio, Ramoji Film City. See who else was there? And why Cannes continues to be such a draw for filmmakers…

Keeping in that vein and based in Paris, Kerackian also spoke to Indian-born director Pan Nalin – the writer-director behind the hugely successful and much acclaimed, ‘Last Film Show’ (2021) – find out what’s he doing in Cannes…

We also caught up with Joy Mathew the lead of the film, ‘Amma Ariyan‘ (‘Report to Mother‘) which showed in Cannes Classic just a couple of days ago. We have interviews with both Mathew and the editor Bina Paul of this sprawling masterpiece – whom many independent (Indian) film directors hail as one of the most original and arresting films ever to have come out of India. Made by the late John Abraham, its status is only growing after 40 years! Find out why from two creatives at the heart of it all and the best talent to speak about Abraham’s vision and working methods – unconventional, yes since his sad passing not long after the film was completed. Look out for those interviews dropping on our YouTube channel and a couple of messages in Malayalam – the state language of Kerala where Abraham, Mathew and Paul all hail from and deliver a timely message about why we should all watch ‘Amma Ariyan‘ (‘Report to Mother’)
