The event raised £1m at the Peninsula Hotel in Mayfair, London. More than 300 guests watched a short film about the origins of the British Asian Trust (BAT) and a 2007 charity cricket match between India and Pakistan that led to the charity being created. As well as speeches from Sanjeev Bhasker, among others, guests enjoyed a music performance from best-selling artist Southall boy Jay Sean, who is now based in the US.
