‘Bait’ – London premiere & review coming

Yesterday Prime launched Riz Ahmed’s ‘Bait’ – a new comedy series that is available on the platform now…

IT IS quite the ride and represents landmark TV – in many ways… Here’s a brown man Shah Latif who is looking to break through into the mainstream to play James Bond and yet, not everything in his life is in the best of places…

READ THE REVIEW LATER TODAY…

STAR Riz Ahmed follows on from his own big screen version of ‘Hamlet’ now to his very first comedy drama series.
It’s described: “Set in London, ‘Bait’ follows Riz as a struggling actor over four wild days as his life begins to spiral while auditioning for a career-defining role. ‘Bait‘ is a sharp, dark comic take on identity, ambition and cultural pressure.”
You will be able to see from the trailer, out of work Shah Latif (Riz Ahmed) is up to be the next James Bond – or at least he thinks he is… Shah visits the family home where his cousin brother and sidekick Zulfi (Guz Khan) and cousin sister Q (Aasiya Shah) live, while his mother Tahira (Sheebha Chadha) and father Parvez (Sajid Hasan) have wildly differing views of what this might mean for their son. It’s mostly in English but they swear in Urdu…JOKE.
It also features another Hollywood star in Himesh Patel (‘The Franchise’) and Ritu Arya (‘The Umbrella Academy’).
We will have interviews and reviews and premiere coverage of the six part series which drops on Prime Video on Wednesday (March 15).
