Nitin Sawhney and Naughty Boy talk music, career and their professionally ‘deranged marriage’…(video)

Two musical geniuses make the music in the film, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ sensational…listen…

BOTH are hugely successful and well-known.
Sawhney has scored over 60 feature films and his last album ‘Immigrants’ was a both a critical and popular success, filling out the Royal Albert Hall.
Naughty Boy, aka Shahid Khan is one of the most successful record producers and musicians to have emerged from Britain in recent times – having worked with such illustrious names as Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Emelie Sande.
The two who have never worked before got together through Jemima Khan and director Shekhar Kapur (see earlier videos) and worked collaboratively on producing the music for the film, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’. This is a wide-ranging interview – not just about the music in the film but also about the creative process, working with Shekhar Kapur, and how they came to get such artists as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Kanika Kapoor to work on the film.
It’s clear that they get on – and Naughty Boy joked that it is a marriage (of minds) to which Sawhney quips – deranged.
It was refreshing to have such time with these two superstars – and they both speak so well and deeply about their art and practice. Inspiring.
