AN ESTIMATED audience of around 10,000 witnessed the opening show of Bradford 2025 City of Culture, ‘Rise’ – which included dance, music and a special centrepiece set by local magician Dynamo, aka Steven Frayne.
The town’s diversity was also a feature of the show as www.asianculturevulture.com saw ‘Rise’, and visited some of the key landmark cultural centres that form part of the UK’s official City of Culture for this year.
ACV braved the freezing temperatures along with the thousands yesterday and went on a press tou of the main the culture centres that make up Bradford 2025 City of Culture – and we have interviews with creative director Bradford 2025 Shanaz Gulzar and other artists whose work on display at the Impressions Gallery (‘Nationhood: Memory and Hope’) in the city and just metres away from where the main show took place in the town square last night (January 10) here in Bradford.
The same show was repeated on Saturday evening (January 11).
