EXPLORING the queer space from a South Asian woman lens is the short film, ‘Before I do’, directed by Gitika Buttoo.
This bold, original and engaging story is written by afshan d’souza-lodhi and now features in the BFI Flare London LBTQIA+ Film Festival (March 19-30).
Buttoo, a first time director talks about how she came to make this story, its inspirations and being able to attract top line film, tv and theatre actors, Shobna Gulati and Ayesha Dharker. The film screens as part of the short film programme strand, To Your Souls: Shorts from the UK & Ireland
It first screens at Flare on Sunday, March 23 and then again Wednesday, March 26 (all screenings shown as sold out) but check current listings and standbys (link below).
