‘Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical’ Irvine Iqbal on iconic film now a stage musical… ( watch video)

IRVINE IQBAL, who plays the role of Baldev in ‘Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical’ talks to www.asianculturevulture.com about the iconic film, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ now being adapted as a stage musical.
Adapted by the original film director Aditya Chopra, the musical is currently on until October 23 this year at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, California.
There is the possibility that the show will transfer to Broadway next year and come to London’s West End as well – keep tuned.
Iqbal as the only British person in the production talks about general situation in regards to South Asian talent, both in the US and the UK. He featured in the stage play ‘The Father and the Assassin’ at the National Theatre in London (recently) and the Disney stage musical ‘Aladdin’ in London’s West End.
He also tells us how he first broke through into theatre as a professional – on ‘Bombay Dreams’(2002), the AR Rahman musical that played in London first and then transferred to Broadway equally successfully.
