‘Baahubali‘ is one of the most successful franchises ever launched in Indian cinema. Delivered in two instalments at a cost of over £60 million approximately, it went onto gross almost five times that and became one of the biggest selling films of all time in India and abroad.
It is an epic tale set in mythological times with a central character of panache, strength, charm and love – Sivudu (Prabhas) is widely admired and seen as a figure all look up to right from his young days through to the challenge of manhood and leadership.
There are lots of twists and turns and his family background is not what everyone imagines. The end of ‘Baahubhali – The Beginning’ comes with a question and ‘Baahahubali – The Conclusion’ answers that question and brings the tale to an end.
Prabhas who was barely known outside of regional cinema (Tollywood and Telugu cinema) is now one of the biggest stars in India with his latest film, ‘Saaho’ is sweeping across India and fans of Prabhas are supporting this film wherever they happen to be.
‘Baahubali – The Beginning Live’ will play out on the big screen in thHindi with English subtitles and the film score reprised by Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
Lucy Noble, artistic director of the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We’re so excited to announce that the talent behind Baahubali – including three of the world’s most popular movie stars – will be coming to the Hall for this unique celebration of a cinematic phenomenon.”
The Films in concert series is marking its 10th anniversary and has screened ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back‘, ‘Skyfall‘, ‘Blade Runner‘, ‘E.T‘.
